Audacious Automotive Quattro is the sort of idea that starts in a pub and ends in a workshop. The Scottish firm takes a B7 generation Audi RS4, the first one with that gorgeous naturally aspirated V8, and dresses it like a Sport Quattro Group B rally homologation special.
Why the RS4 Donor Makes Sense
Purists might ask why not the RS3, which shares the Sport Quattro’s five-cylinder layout. Its transverse engine, however, would have complicated a manual gearbox, and that is a dealbreaker for any serious build. Even so, the RS4 offers a sweeter engine and a longitudinal layout that suits this kind of conversion. Audi enthusiasts will recognise the spirit of the Audi S6 in that trade-off between practicality and performance.
On paper, the numbers are compelling. A supercharger lifts output to 600 horsepower, while the Stage 2 package reaches 750 horsepower with uprated internals. Engineers can also raise the redline from 8,250rpm to 10,000rpm. Weight drops by roughly 250kg, to around 1,400kg, and carbon fibre body panels are available for further savings.

Audacious Automotive Quattro Power Play
Some RS4 parts survive inside the cabin, and the steering wheel gives away the donor car immediately. Audacious has pushed the interior toward a more retro feel, though. Bespoke trim is available, so buyers can shape the cabin to their own tastes. Still, the sheer scale of personalisation makes every example a one-off in practice.
Meanwhile, the engineering reads like a statement of intent. Naturally aspirated character meets forced induction, and the result is a car built to be heard as much as driven. Ultimately, 750 horsepower from a V8 with this lineage is a headline figure that few rivals can match.
Pricing, Patience and a 50-Car Gamble
You will need at least £350,000 before buying the donor car, and options will push that figure higher quickly. Deliveries do not begin until late 2027, so buyers must wait patiently. In reality, a limited run of 50 gives the programme genuine scarcity value.
Future speculation suggests early cars could appreciate as collectors chase analogue V8 rally tributes. Still, the donor RS4 cost and build quality will decide whether those margins hold.
In reality, the Audacious Automotive Quattro is a rolling argument for naturally aspirated motoring. Visit Auto News Magazine for more industry analysis, and check the official Audi website for the donor platform’s history. Few buyers will mind the price.
