Lotus has finally joined the SUV crowd with its new Eletre (pronounced "El-etra" and in some Eastern European languages means "Coming to Life"), which is not only its first SUV, but also the world's first fully electric hyper SUV. The model, which was officially unveiled tonight at the BBC Television Center in London, brings with it a significant number of premieres in the UK market - the first 5-door series model, the first exterior model with sports car parts; the first EV lifestyle; and the most "connected" Lotus of all time.

As expected, advanced technologies will be found in the car, including the most advanced active aerodynamic package required for any production SUV. There are also intelligent control technologies, such as the first Light Detection and Deployment System (LiDAR) in a production car.

Eletre is built on the new Lotus Electric Premium Architecture (EPA). The low construction provides exceptional handling and the EPA can be easily adapted to suit C + to E + battery sizes in the car class, engines, component layout and intelligent driving technologies. The platform could be the basis for a new line of premium lifestyle electric vehicles from Lotus.

Eletre has a 4WD drive with 2 electric motors with an output of up to 600 hp and uses a specialized 800V electric vehicle architecture with an integrated high-voltage distribution system. The high-density battery has a capacity of more than 100 kWh and is expected to last up to 600 km when fully charged. The 350 kW charger travels 400 km in just 20 minutes and also has the ability to receive a 22 kW AC charger (if available). The hypercar's evidence comes from optimal performance numbers under 3 seconds for speeds of 0 to 100 km / h and a maximum speed of 260 km / h.
