According to a report by AUTOCAR.CO.UK, the Alpine A610 EV is heading for a radical visual overhaul. The four-seat electric roadster will share its foundation with the next-generation A110 EV, yet it will look nothing like its retro sibling.
Alpine A610 EV Ditches Retro
Brand chief Philippe Krief confirmed the four-seater will not borrow from the A310 concept shown in Paris. He called the earlier A310-based plan “too close” to the original, so the new design leans hard toward modernity. Meanwhile, the wider strategy remains delicate, as we explored in our analysis of the Alpine A390 rollout.
Beneath the skin, the car rides on the Alpine Performance Platform, a highly flexible architecture built for a range of body styles. On paper, expect modern kit such as high-voltage charging and silicon-carbide inverters, though Alpine has not published final figures.

Exclusivity Over Ledger Sums
Krief admits that nobody builds these cars to make money. The A110 Ultime, the first special series model, reportedly averaged €300,000 per car, proving that the brand’s most exclusive buyers are out there. Even so, the 2+2 must justify itself as a volume product.
Production Decision Still Hangs Fire
Alpine has not confirmed whether the 2+2 will reach series production or stay a limited-run special. Krief tied the call to brand awareness and network profitability in the coming years. In reality, that makes the A610 EV a strategic gamble rather than a done deal.
My prediction is simple. If the special series route wins, early examples will command a serious premium on the used market, because collectors reward rarity and personalisation far more than horsepower.
Ultimately, the Alpine A610 EV represents a clear break from nostalgia. Its success will depend on whether Alpine can translate design ambition into a viable business for the wider Auto News Magazine audience.
