2022 Land Rover Defender V8: Gloriously overkill A 518-hp supercharged Land Rover Defender is utterly useless but very entertaining. As far as potency goes, too often is about right. The current P400 version of the Land Rover Defender, with its 395bhp supercharged and turbocharged 3.0-litre straight-six, already produces what many consider adequate performance for something so large and boxy.
