Mercedes have announced a re-call on it’s high powered S Class models manufactured between January and April this year. The re-call involves the S500, S63 and S65 AMG models.
The issue suspected by Mercedes is that the front seat belts may have been installed incorrectly, with left handed seat belts accidentally being installed on the right, and right hand seat belts being installed on the left. The result of the incorrect installation angles could increase the risk of injury to the occupants of the vehicle in the event of a collision. With the S65 being packed with 630BHP and a top speed limited to 155MPH, you’d want some pretty good seat belts installed if you needed them!
Affected owners will be notified by Mercedes, and will be inspected and repaired free of charge.
