In 2014, Apple started working on “Project Titan” with more than 1,000 automotive experts and engineers developing an electric car at a secret location near the company’s headquarters in Cupertino.

The Apple Car project has shifted and changed several times over the past few years due to internal strife and leadership issues, but progress is on the way.

While rumors from 2016 suggested Apple was putting the brakes on plans for the car, it’s back in 2020. Apple is now reportedly working on a fully autonomous self-driving car that requires no user intervention to drive, more than any other car maker to date. It’s a very ambitious project and rumors suggest that Apple wants to design a car without a steering wheel or pedals.
